State of New Jersey
Department of Corrections
"Protecting Public Safety by Changing Offender Behavior"
Acting Commissioner
                         Victoria L. Kuhn, Esq.

From the onset of the pandemic, the Department took immediate action to mitigate the spread of the virus. A number of these measures are noted in the following video. Although most restrictions have since resumed, activities such as regular testing and vaccinations remain ongoing, as do our COVID-19 visitation guidelines. If you plan on visiting our facilities or would like to learn more about our COVID-19 visitation guidelines, please visit

The following information tracks the COVID-19 pandemic across our facilities, utilizing data from the Department's universal testing initiative and voluntary vaccination program. NJDOC’s universal testing initiative is the largest testing initiative in the state and among the first in a correctional setting. The data does not reflect staff tests and vaccines acquired outside of the Department’s facilities, within the community. Data is updated biweekly.
