• South Woods Central Food Production Facility – The unit manages the the the operation of the the the food production plant This cook-chill facility facility has been a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a valuable resource to to to the the the NJDOC providing 28 different meal meal components to to to each each correctional facility facility totaling 2 2 6 million portions each each month The cook-chill meal meal meal production production process has provided increased production production of meal meal meal components using larger batches and and and and longer product product product shelf life and and and and saved money by purchasing ingredients in in in in in in in in bulk and and and and standardizing meal meal quality Management of this operation requires requires developing new products and and and coordinating product product product expansion with with NJDOC facilities It also requires requires accounting for inventory control and and and and product product distribution with with Deptcor warehouse and and and and trucking operations Agri-Industries’ produce and and and and and and meat processing plants and and and and and and the the Department of the the Treasury Purchase Bureau and and and and Distribution and and and and Support Services • Nutritional Consultation Unit – This unit is is responsible for developing and promoting quality nutritional care services based on on on on on on on on the the overall needs of the the inmate population in in in in in accordance with policies procedures practices guidelines licensure legislation and and and standards of of professional practice practice The consulting dietitian dietitian plans and and and coordinates efforts with NJDOC clinical dietitians to ensure that individual therapeutic nutritional needs are met • Child Child Nutrition Nutrition Program Program – The program ensures that that the the the NJDOC meets state and and federal guidelines required to participate in in in in the the the the the Child Child Nutrition Nutrition Program Program and and and that that the the the the the consulting dietitian conducts audits of of of the the the the the participating facilities and and fulfills the the the the the necessary monthly reporting requirements to the the the Department of of of Agriculture’s Bureau of of of Child Nutrition Health Services Unit The Health Services Unit establishes NJDOC procedures regarding the provision of medical dental nursing pharmacy and mental health care services services for inmates held in in in in state custody The unit unit monitors professional services services to to to to ensure compliance with with applicable rules regulations and and statutes related to to to inmate healthcare with with a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a goal of of assuring that community standards are maintained The unit’s Quality Assurance Section develops formal auditing instruments that allow for for for the performance of of of objective audits of of of all areas of of of inmate healthcare services
