(NJAC) requirements Responsibilities of of of the the Office of of of County Services include but are not limited to assessing the the operation of of of all county county work release programs reviewing and and responding to to to inquiries from state-sentenced inmates confined in in in in in fin in in in county county county correctional correctional facilities and and and delivering technical assistance to to to county county correctional correctional wardens/administrators and and and police chiefs concerning the the revision development and/or implementation of any policy procedure or or written protocol required by the the NJAC In 2018 237 municipal detention facilities were inspected Office Office Office of of of of Chaplaincy Chaplaincy Services Services Services – Located at at Central Office Office Office the the Office Office Office of of of of Chaplaincy Chaplaincy Services Services Services is responsible for support support of of of of of the the the Religious Services Services Services programs within each of of of of of the the NJDOC correctional institutions The office office provides guidance and and support support to to all all institutional chaplains and and and and administrators on on on on on on on religious matters Additionally this office office is is is responsible for for the the the development and and and and implementation of of of policies and and and and procedures that guide the the the delivery of of of religious religious services and and and appropriate religious religious accommodations for for the the the offender population When religious religious issues are are challenged by the the the offender population or institutions are are seeking further guidance on on on religious religious matters the the the the Office of of of Chaplaincy Services assists in in in in this process through the the the input of of of of its Religious Religious Issues Issues Committee Committee The Religious Religious Issues Issues Committee Committee consists of of of a a a a a a a a a a a a a diverse team of of of departmental staff members who convene to to review religious religious matters on on on on a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a case-by-case basis and and make recommendations to to ensure that offenders’ religious religious rights and and and freedoms are upheld while ensuring for the the safety and and security of of the overall institution • •
