a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a best practice program program designed to help offenders recognize their their angry feelings learn their their cause and deal with them in in in a a a a a a a a a a a a a responsible way In 2018 897 participants enrolled in in in CYR of which 87% percent completed the the the program • Successful Employment through Lawful Living and Conflict Management (SEALL)
– SEALL SEALL is a a a a a a a a a a a a a a job job retention program program with a a a a a a a a a a a a a a specific focus on on on on on maintaining employment and and addressing on-the-job conflict The program program prepares offenders to to to to address address possible barriers to to to to employment how how to to to to build positive working relationships and and and how how to to to to develop effective problem solving and and communication skills In 2018 1 1 1 669 participants enrolled in in in SEALL of which 91% percent completed the program • Helping Helping Offenders Offenders Parent Parent Effectively Effectively for for Men (HOPE) and Helping Helping Offenders Offenders Parent Parent Effectively Effectively for for Women (HOPE-W) – HOPE HOPE HOPE is is a a a a a a a a a a a parenting program program offered by NJDOC The goal goal of of of of of the the the program program is is to help participants become responsible parents even while incarcerated with the the the the ultimate goal goal of of of of reducing the the the the rate rate of of of of incarceration by offenders learning to to to to positively influence their own children to to to to live live law-abiding lives HOPE is designed to to to to to to enable offenders to to to to to to recognize the the the the importance of of accepting responsibility
for their their their children and increasing their their their ability to to to to be be self-sufficient by beginning to to to to take control of of their their their lives In 2018 566 participants enrolled in in in in in HOPE of of which 90% percent completed the the program • Family Reunification and Transition (FRAT) – FRAT FRAT is is a a a a a a a a a a a a program that that focuses on on on on recognizing that that many offenders leave prison without without developing a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a plan for rebuilding family family relationships or or without without an an an an understanding of of of their their family’s expectations upon their their their return FRAT is is designed to assist offenders as
as
as
they begin the the the the the process of of of reconnecting with their their family family members by addressing past and and present behaviors and and preparing for changes in in in in in the the the family family that could affect the the the offender’s transition In 2018 1 1 339 participants enrolled in in in FRAT of of which 89% percent completed the program OTS Special Services
• Fair Fair Release Release and and Reentry Reentry Act Act - The Fair Fair Release Release and and Reentry Reentry Act Act (FRARA) of of 2009 is intended to to to provide exiting offenders with a a a a a a a a a a a a a comprehensive information packet to to to aid
in in in in in in in fin in their successful re-integration into society The FRARA portfolio includes a a a a a a a a a a a a a a temporary release photo ID final final discharge paperwork a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a copy of current criminal charges remaining account account balance final final trust account account statement and a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a medical records summary Where applicable released inmates will also be provided with notification of active warrants/detainers NJ Transit bus tickets (if purchased) any necessary medical referrals and a a a a a a a two-week supply of medication Information is also provided on on the right to to vote records expungement process child support/custody community-based resources and State Parole Board Certificate of of Rehabilitation application as

a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a host of of other pertinent reentry related materials Additional services provided by the Office of Transitional Services

• • Project Storybook – This program gives incarcerated mothers the the the opportunity to to to to read and and and record record books on a a a a a a a a CD CD to to to to to be gifted and and and distributed to to to to to their children children In 2018 146 CDs were recorded and and sent home to to children Mother/Child Visitation Program – This program allows inmate mothers to visit with their children children at at at at at Edna Mahan Correctional Facility for for Women (EMCFW) The Mother/ Mother/ Child Visitation Program provides transportation for for children children from a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a pickup point in in Camden Mercer Middlesex Union Essex Monmouth Bergen Passaic Hudson and Morris counties In 2018 126 Mother/Child visits were held with the the the participation of 47 mothers and 107 children 54
