of Offender Reentry Programs
The New Jersey Department of of of of Corrections’ commitment to offender reentry is being addressed through through a a a a a a a a a a a a a a multitude of of of of of programs and and services services made available through through the Office of of of of of Transitional Services Programs
and and and services services are intended to to to provide offenders with tools to to to successfully reenter the community such as Successful Successful Transition and and Reentry Series (STARS) Thinking
for for a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a Change (T4C) Cage Your Rage (CYR) Successful Successful Employment Through Lawful Living and and Conflict Management (SEALL) The Department also prepares inmates for for reentry by encouraging parent-child relationships during and and and and after incarceration through programs such as Helping Offenders Parent Effectively and and and Family Reunification and and and Transition Educational initiatives include high school equivalency testing post-secondary degrees
and vocational training • • In 2018 there were 275 High School Equivalency (HSE) diplomas issued to to state-sentenced offenders The passing rate among inmates who took the the rigorous HSE HSE exam was an impressive 78 percent In addition 69 high school diplomas were awarded in in in 2018 Through a a a a a a a a a a a a a collaboration with Rutgers University University Raritan Valley Community College and Princeton University University post-secondary courses are made available to to the the offender population In Fiscal Year 2018 the the Department averaged 502 inmates who were enrolled in in college credit-bearing courses
